New York Knicks: Jon Stewart Has the Best Comical Reaction to Tyrese Maxey’s Takeover
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

As a big New York Knicks fan, comedian Jon Stewart must have been so elated to see the team go up by six points with under 30 seconds left on the clock against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

But Tyrese Maxey happened. Maxey led a late-game attack by the Sixers and forced overtime when he sank a 3-pointer from the logo to tie the game at 97-97. Stewart was then seen on camera looking as though he had just seen a ghost while Maxey celebrated on the court.

Stewart later hopped on social media to share his admiration for Maxey and comment on his stunned look on live television.

Respect to Maxey…but damn…I’m clearly getting too old for this s---, Stewart posted on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter).

Maxey scored seven points to just one by the Knicks in the final 25 seconds of the fourth quarter. The Sixers made sure Maxey’s heroics wouldn’t go to waste as they outscored New York in overtime, 15-9, to steal a 112-106 win in Game 5. Maxey exploded for 46 points in that game, a performance that will be talked about for days regardless of the outcome of Thursday’s Game 6 in Philly.
