'Did you see the moves and the shots?' JJ Redick SLAMS haters blaming Rudy Gobert for Nikola Jokic’s monstrous performance

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-97, establishing a 3-2 lead in the NBA playoffs in game 5. Notably, Nikola Jokic , Nuggets’ star player was the top performer in game 5. He dropped 40 points on the Timberwolves and their star defender, Rudy Gobert .

Gobert got a lot of criticism from various NBA analysts regarding his performance against the Joker and the Nuggets. However, former NBA player and basketball analyst JJ Redick came to Gobert’s defense on his show “The Old Man & The Three” with Richard Jefferson .

This was an obvious jab at Gobert’s haters and those who criticized him for his performance against Nikola Jokic, this year’s MVP.

Interestingly, Gobert defeated Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat and youngster Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs to win his fourth Defensive Player of the Year title this NBA season. It remains to be seen how Gobert reacts to all the noise surrounding him in game 6 against the Nuggets.

Rudy Gobert makes an honest assessment regarding Nikola Jokic’s performance in game 5

In Tuesday night’s Game 5, the Minnesota Timberwolves exerted every effort to contain Denver Nuggets star, Nikola Jokic. Not even their four-time DPOY Rudy Gobert could restrain Jokic’s heroics. Moreover, Gobert also provided an honest answer when asked about Jokic’s performance in game 5.

When attempting to explain Jokic’s “amazing” performance in Game 5, the Timberwolves big center was at a loss of words. He also discussed Jokic’s 16-point third-quarter performance that ignited the Nuggets.

Rudy Gobert also stressed that he blocked Jokic’s few shots but it ended up in the basket nevertheless. On the other hand, Gobert and the Timberwolves had an off night, with many of their star players not performing as per their standards.
